Photography has been a part of Lauren's life for as long she I can remember. Since before she was born, her dad provided for their family through his career as a professional photographer. Watching him behind the lens, working hard, and serving others humbly has been foundational not only to Lauren's photography career, but how she seeks to engage with the world around her.
It's not just her dad who has set that example for her though. Lauren considers creativity to be a unique form of communing with the Creator. She believes God made all that is beautiful, including marriage. Her desire is to honor Him first and fully by documenting and honoring the joy, celebration, and many cultures of his most precious creation: humanity.

SHE shot HER first wedding at age 6 and never looked back...
It was a Spring day in 2006. Lauren's parents told her they'd be attending a wedding together as a family in a few weeks, and she. was. ecstatic. Carefully crafting a paper chain to count down the days, she'd rip a link off the chain each day and admire her one-link-shorter paper chain.
When the day arrived, she got dressed up and watched as a fairytale unfolded before her eyes. The bride was radiant, and her groom, a real life prince charming. Lauren's dad had been hired as the photographer for the wedding (the bride's parents were some friends of theirs).
It was a hot day, and she could feel the relief that came when the ceremony ended and the guests were allowed into the banquet hall. Scattered on the tables were several small green disposable cameras for guests to use as the celebrations continued through the evening. As any child destined to become a wedding photographer would, Lauren spent the rest of the evening playing with her new toy, and practicing all the skills she had picked up from her dad through observation.
Looking back now, she can see how incapable she was then of containing her creativity. Lauren tried many other creative endeavors as she grew up– She even invented a dishwashing product called "sponge-on-a-string" (shocker no one picked that one up). It wasn't until college that photography became more than a hobby. It was then that Lauren discovered that preserving the lives and celebrations of others allowed her to bring together her greatest passions: building meaningful connections and creating something beautiful.
